Kara Dallman - Panelist

Kara Dallman, a U.S. Navy Veteran and an experienced nonprofit professional, currently serves as the Executive Director of Our Military Kids. She brings a wealth of personal and professional experience in serving military families. Having spent over 13 years working with the San Diego-based military nonprofit United Through Reading, Kara held the position of Executive Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Alliances. Her commitment to collaboration and her track record of working with donors, industry professionals, and other nonprofit organizations make her a strong leader for Our Military Kids’ future growth.

Kara Dallman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of the Holy Cross, where she was commissioned through Navy ROTC. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business and a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy. As a military spouse of 20 years, Kara and her husband, Captain Pete Dallman, USN (Ret), have two adult children who proudly identify themselves as having grown up as military kids.

Our Military Kids, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides substantial support to children of deployed National Guard and Military Reserve service members, as well as children of wounded warriors from all active and reserve military branches. The organization funds extracurricular activities for these children during their parents’ deployments or while their parents recover from severe injuries sustained in post-9/11 overseas missions.
